Budding Springtime (Part 2)

On Wednesday, my POTD was of a bud that I'd found in the backyard. My intention was to take a picture of it each day until it bloomed. I missed yesterday (wow, what a nutty day THAT was!), but figured I'd get it today instead. Imagine my surprise when I found it wide open this morning! I guess if you miss a day in nature, you miss a lot! I just love the colors in it, though, from the vibrant yellow to the whisper-soft purple. Have I mentioned that I just love spring?

    Oh yum! A Japanese iris, right? I love the drama of this. What a wonderful mix of colors--that purple in the center is just too good to be true!

    This is just gorgeous! I love iris. My dad used to call them flags. One of my favorite flowers.

    You are right about missing the show if you are absent even one day. This is beautiful - wonderful pairing of colors....nature knows its' stuff!

    My iris did the same thing....yesterday I was thinking of taking a shot of the bud but never got around to and this morning its open...now that would make a wonderful video:)
