Happiness is...

This afternoon started Erin's spring break. Yeah! To celebrate and help kick it off in style, Mom and I took her to Farrell's for lunch and a delicious Oreo Bliss sundae. (OK, so it wasn't exactly a low point lunch, Weight Watchers style, but it was a special occasion!) It was my mom's first trip to Farrell's in probably 35 years, and just as much fun as she remembered.

After we got home, the doorbell rang, and I opened the door to find a somewhat heavy box out front addressed to Jim. I IMd him to see what he ordered, and he said it was some movies for Erin and that I shouldn't open it. Hmmm... Kinda heavy for movies. Then I mentioned that I couldn't wait to get the lens I'd decided on for my birthday (which isn't for a few weeks) and he said I could open the box. It was my new lens! I can't believe he bought it for me! Woo-hoo! It's a Tamron 28-75mm 2.8. I've only taken a few pictures with it so far, but boy... It's gonna be great!  Here's my favorite shot from this afternoon. I'm going to love this!

  1. Oh my goodness. I haven't been to Farrell's since I was a teenager (they don't have them here any more). Do they still make "The Zoo" and go all out when they deliver it to a table?

Yay on the new lens! And double yay on early birthday gifts!!! Have fun with it!

  2. Yep! It's just like I remember it from when I was a kid. They used to have 130 restaurants, and then they went out of business. They're slowly reopening them now, and ours is just #2 in the country. It's fantastic!
