Call to Order

Looking around, it's obvious that the new school year is almost upon us. There are back-to-school sales going on everywhere, and kids are starting to get that moping look they get when they know the fun and games is about to end. Another way to tell is that the PTA organizations start gearing up for the new year as well. Today was the first PTA executive board meeting of the new year at Erin's school. Our new (and awesome!) president pounded the gavel to officially get the year underway, and many of the committee chairs had a chance to give their updates or (like me, for the yearbook) get things approved. It was great to get together with this wonderful group of parents and hear some of the exciting things that that are planned for this year at the school!

  2. Thanks, Pat. We're very lucky at this school to have an amazing PTA. We do a lot of really great programs, and don't have any of the nasty political stuff that seem to plague other schools' groups.

  3. Yearbook sounds fun! We're in a new school so I'm interested to see how this pta and school runs vs our old school district. Hopefully not too much of that political stuff too!

  4. Fun! I was on the PTA Board throughout my sons elementary years and it was a blast. Unfortunatly they don't have a PTA at his Middle School. Have a great school year! Love the photo BTW.

  5. Like the perspective of this shot. I know what you mean about moping feelings about going back to school. We've already gone back here - a week earlier this year than before; consequently the summer was over even sooner. My kids usually have mixed feelings - happy to get back to see friends, not happy to get back to homework. But anymore, they have homework all summer - so .....
