Buddies

Erin's Junior Girl Scout troop is working on their Junior Aide award. Part of that includes working with a troop of younger girls and helping them achieve some of their own Girl Scout goals. Today was the first of these meetings, with Erin's troop working with a troop of Kindergarten and first grade Daisies. We met at the local park, and the older girls buddied up with the younger ones and led them through a bridge of silence and flag ceremony, performed skits they'd put together on how to handle some social situations, and taught them songs before all sitting down together for a snack.  They also allowed the younger girls to ask them questions about the patches and pins on their uniforms, and I think enjoyed the adoration the younger girls showed toward them. It was so cute to see how great the Juniors were with their little buddies and to watch them walk hand-in-hand where ever they went. I can't wait to see how the next few meetings with the troops go!
